  2. unable to download add-on manager

    Hi Patco, I was able to download the addon and then install/update to latest version. I can't say that I did anything different, it just started working again. Not sure if tfdi did anything on their end tbh.
  3. HI all. I am having difficulty downloading the latest add-on manager. I am trying to download from my account. I've used 3 different browsers and 2 different internet connections (work - fibre and home - cellular data) with 2 different computers. In every case the download keeps getting interrupted at different stages of the download. Are the any alternate download links?
  4. What graphics settings are people using in P3D V4

    I too have similar specs 4790k, 16gb ram, 980ti with the usual stuff. I pretty much all sliders on max but use 4xSSAA during daylight flights and 8xMSAA during evening (HDR) flights. I'm still in search of the holy grail of perfect settings (even bought Process Lasso Pro to tweak settings). Regards, HL
  5. HW Rendering?

    Hey Macca....are you suggesting that with HW enabled, you haven't noticed as many CTDs (or none at all)?? I had to disable mine (uncheck) due to laggy displays and instrument feedback. I just had CTD a while ago while still on the ground (HW NOT enabled).

  7. While its not a fix for whatever the problem is.....the way I deal with this view related CTD is to limit view switching during takeoff and climb. Once I get to T/C I enable chaseplane cinematic mode. Once I get to T/D I switch back to internal chaseplane views (I have hotkeys set for various internal views). I have been able to successfully complete flights using this method.
  8. P3D V4 CTD - no errors

    Did you have Chaseplane or Activesky running? TBD, my last few flights ran ok even with Chaseplane and Active Sky running (I find it difficult and boring to fly without Chaseplane). I kept my view switching to a minimum and once I hit T/C I enabled chaseplane's cinematic mode until I reached T/D then switched back to internal view. Thereafter I kept view switching to internal views only (looking at uppper panel, displays, CDUs etc. etc.).

Hi all, Trying to enter the following route (from PRO-ATC): ESSA DCT NOSLI DCT VSN DCT JX DCT NEXIL N851 MAKEL DCT RARUP DCT ULSEN T155 ALOSI DCT KEMAD UN851 MASEK DCT KERAX EDDF When I get to the N851 airway (VIA) I can't enter MAKEL in the to section (RSK-1). i am getting a NOT IN DATA BASE message. As a matter of fact, no matter what I try to enter in the TO field, it isn't accepting it. I'm suspecting the N851 airway isn't available in the route database? if so, anyway I can confirm this? Note I have navigraph 1709 rev1 installed on the 717 as well as Pro ATC.

    It didn't validate ....but I think its because of the format entered: ESSA DCT NOSLI DCT PELUP N851 MAKEL DCT LUB UP605 KEMAD DCT ERNEP DCT EMGOD T729 NOSPA DCT BETEX EDDF Response: SYN112: INCORRECT USAGE OF BRACKETS '(' AND ')' AT ROW= 1, COL= 1 (TITLE) I then tried letting PFPX find a route from ESSA to EDDF, instead of Pro-ATC. This is what it found: ESSA DCT NOSLI N850 ABAMA DCT SALLO DCT HLZ T157 KERAX EDDF I tried to validate that through Eurocontrol but that didn't validate either (similar syntax looking error). I will try the new PFPX route and see if the 717 likes it and report.

    I must concur....1.0.9.10 seems to be much smoother than previous versions (I also have HR turned off). I hope the devs can confirm that in fact some optimisations were done which resulted in the apparent increase in performance.
  13. P3D V4 CTD - no errors

    Just suffered a CTD on my initial climb out of TJSJ (flight to KMIA). I switched to the F11 external view and was watching the bird climb. I noticed the nose was a bit high, so I switched back to the internal view (using a chase plane hotkey) and then it froze. Got the popup box indicating P3D had stopped responding.

    When I enter UN851 in PFPX, it deletes the airway completely and sets up a direct connection between PELUP and MAKEL Thus I am suggesting that UN851 isn't a valid airway for this route. Also even if when I enter UN851 in the via field, I still can't enter MAKEL in the To field.

    Strange.....cause when I enter the route in PFPX, it accepts it as valid. It also shows the airway as N851

    I tried entering a bogus airway and immediately got the NOT IN DATABASE message, so it appears that N851 is in fact valid (since it does allow me to enter it)....its just that its not allowing me to enter the next waypoint after the airway.
  17. 1.0.9.9 feedback

    Just wanted to provide some feedback on 1.0.9.9. Did 2 flights back to back (TNCM -> TNCC and TNCC -> TAPA). Flights were done without rebooting in between. In both cases I had AS + ASCA enabled and used PRO ATC. I enabled/disabled time acceleration numerous times throughout. I switched between numerous chase plane views (internal and external) as well as using P3D's views (A and S keys). The plane performed excellent during the flights. The climb was steady (no bobbing up and down) and the decent was controlled. I had an ILS landing at TNCC and the plane landed itself as expected. At TAPA I landed manually. I experienced no issues programming the flight plan and the plane remained in position after starting the engine (with parking brake set). Also before turning unto the runway at TNCM (PRO ATC advised to hold), the plane remained stationary without parking brake and without manual brake engaged and with throttle in the idle position. The only strange thing was when I landed at TNCC, during the taxi to the gate, the engine audio was unusually low in the external view (F11), however it was normal in the cockpit view. It did return to normal after I started the APU during the taxi to the gate. I must say that 1.0.9.9 feels very solid. Its a HUGE improvement compared to 1.0.9.7.

    With HR checked the displays are barely usable....Can't say exactly how many fps they represent, but its ridiculous to try to fly with HR on. I hope that can be optimised in the near future as to me, the better sounding option is to check/enable hardware rendering.
  21. Auto Pilot/FD

    I just did an ILS landing at EHAM rw06. I hit the APPR/LAND button a bit early in the START and the plane did in fact start to turn and went off the magenta line a bit. However it eventually straightened out and landed perfectly.

    P OK so I just tried a flight with 'hardware rendering' checked and had to abort due to very low fps on displays....I just couldn't fly the plane with the displays like that. I disabled hardware rendering and rebooted and its back to normal. Thus for now I'd say the safe setting is leave this unchecked. I am running 1.0.9.9

    I would think so, however the plane performs pretty ok with or without hardware acceleration (though tbh I would prefer to have it on....but keeping it on caused the slow refresh/stutter/lower fps for the displays). Now that we have 1.0.9.9, I will try again wtih hardware acceleration turned on to see if the problem has been fixed.
  24. Gauge and Engine Fluctuation Back in 98

    I haven't done any detailed testing, but can confirm that when I posted my last post on the CTD thread, (1.0.9.7), the plane also started moving forward even with the parking brake set and with my throttle set to idle position. Clearly remember looking at the CDU and when I switched to an external view, I was nearly across the runway. I had to apply brakes immediately (.) and it stopped.
