Proper Problem Reporting for the TFDi Design 717   07/09/2017

Folks, As the user count is increasing, it is becoming more of a task for us to stay on top of problem reports. We are also receiving an increasing amount of incomplete reports that we are unable to follow up on (which frustrates everyone, us included). On that note, we are going to be enforcing a stricter formal problem reporting system. There are a few main points that need to be addressed. ALL problem reports must be submitted via the Bugs and Suggestions system. Open discussion on the forums is fine, but our team simply cannot respond to every single comment (especially when the majority of doing so is asking for information the Bugs and Suggestions system already asks for). Incomplete reports will be ignored. This means reports like "my FPS is bad" will not be given weight. This isn't because we don't care. It is because a report like that does absolutely nothing for anyone - we can't fix it based on that. Please include EVERYTHING you can possibly think of regarding the problem and take as many steps as you can to isolate it. Prepar3D v4, despite what you have heard, can still be unstable. Yes, it is definitely possible to fly flights without issues. But it is still relatively new, as are most of the addons available for it. Please refrain from attacking us or other developers because of this. We have already had one scenario where a 717 CTD was resolved by an update to Prepar3D itself. This is likely not the only time that will be the case. You are still free to report the crashes, as it may help whoever the developers of the faulting code are solve the issue. Duplicate reports will be deleted/merged. For the sake of sanity for us trying to prioritize and evaluate issues, if we discover multiple reports of the same thing, we may merge/delete the duplicates. We strongly encourage you to search and see if your problem has been reported before. Thank you all in advance. This may seem overbearing, but this is the only way we are going to be able to stay on top and continue heading in the direction we, and the community, want.

couple of bugs/issues

Recommended Posts

Hi.

First overall it's a nice aircraft but :D I found a couple of bugs/issues.

Since the last update I have roughly 10 frames less than before and a lot of stutters. Hardware rendering doesn't change anything.

I'm unable to delete contrains out of the FMC (have experience with the real FMC).

The speedbrakes are producing too much drag. Speedbrakes roughly increase the descent rate times 1,5 but with the 717 its 2 to 2,5 times.:)

And it doesn't show me traffic on the ND with shared cockpit and everytime I use the trim the other guy is experiencing trim runway or a disconnect from the session

My specs are: I7 2600K OC 4,6 GHz, GTX 1080, 16GB RAM, Win 7 64 bit P3Dv4

Thanks for your help

There's no reason you should be seeing an FPS drop since the last update. How are you attempting to delete the constraints? Also, what reference do you have for how the speedbrake should work? The TRFC button must be pushed on the ECP before all traffic will be displayed. Finally, there is a bug with shared cockpit and trimming that we will resolve.

I just realised my FPS increased since MFDs screens updates

Thanks for your answer. The FMC thing seems to be a one time thing. I tried to delete the constrain on the vert rev page and on the F-PLN page . Neither worked. The 717 FMC is a bit different to the honeywell FMC I'm used to. Not sure if the F-PLN constrain delete actually workes with that version.

I pressed the TRFC button. The ND showed on the lower left corner "TRFC". Nothing -my shared cockpit bud had a trafffic indication.

Speedbrakes- I'm flying a jet myself (not the 717) and I even asked some colleagues about the descent rate with speed brakes. They all confirmed that an increase by 1000-1500' up to the double is normal. The speedbrake on the 717 just feels a bit off and overpowered. If you need more infos just pm me :)

Agreed with Speedbrakes!

Regarding TCAS, I'll be honest - if it's not a repeatable issue, I have NO Idea what would have caused it and debugging it will be nearly impossible. Are you sure he was actually in sim on your end? (i.e. It wasn't a model matching/AI traffic issue?)

We are both using the same ai traffic. The flight was on Vatism. The aircraft was there just not shown on the ND. (2000 feet above) I'll try to recreate it the next time.
