Proper Problem Reporting for the TFDi Design 717   07/09/2017

Folks, As the user count is increasing, it is becoming more of a task for us to stay on top of problem reports. We are also receiving an increasing amount of incomplete reports that we are unable to follow up on (which frustrates everyone, us included). On that note, we are going to be enforcing a stricter formal problem reporting system. There are a few main points that need to be addressed. ALL problem reports must be submitted via the Bugs and Suggestions system. Open discussion on the forums is fine, but our team simply cannot respond to every single comment (especially when the majority of doing so is asking for information the Bugs and Suggestions system already asks for). Incomplete reports will be ignored. This means reports like "my FPS is bad" will not be given weight. This isn't because we don't care. It is because a report like that does absolutely nothing for anyone - we can't fix it based on that. Please include EVERYTHING you can possibly think of regarding the problem and take as many steps as you can to isolate it. Prepar3D v4, despite what you have heard, can still be unstable. Yes, it is definitely possible to fly flights without issues. But it is still relatively new, as are most of the addons available for it. Please refrain from attacking us or other developers because of this. We have already had one scenario where a 717 CTD was resolved by an update to Prepar3D itself. This is likely not the only time that will be the case. You are still free to report the crashes, as it may help whoever the developers of the faulting code are solve the issue. Duplicate reports will be deleted/merged. For the sake of sanity for us trying to prioritize and evaluate issues, if we discover multiple reports of the same thing, we may merge/delete the duplicates. We strongly encourage you to search and see if your problem has been reported before. Thank you all in advance. This may seem overbearing, but this is the only way we are going to be able to stay on top and continue heading in the direction we, and the community, want.

A very good update!
Some things I still think need to be addressed ASAP:

Pulling SPD knob causes ATS engage (wrong)

PITCH flight director reacts strongly to yoke movement (an FSX bug actually, seen it in some lower quality planes) I have an idea on fixing this, if you want to hear it, let me know.)

Other than that, very good update!!!

Cheers
Josh

EDIT: Mod pls move into the community opt-in beta topic... sorry....

Aircraft is flying great!! Thanks guys for the update! I just have one thing to add. I noticed this I believe this issue was brought up before, if not I'll put in a ticket for it, but the Vapp speeds calculated by the MCDU are sometimes well in to the stall protection speed tape. For example, my Gross weight was around 100,000lbs on landing and the Vapp was 137, well into the protection tape and the FMS speed selected 147kts instead of the calculated 137kts.

Otherwise, bang up job on the update guys!

It is flying really nice, managed to float around the 50fps mark over Jo'burg.

I echo the previous comment about the Vref and low speed protection conflicts. I enter the protection on both departure and landing.

Low Speed Protection / Vref crossover - Flap 40 Landing

Entering Low Speed Protection in managed landing modes - Flap 25

Low Speed Protection - Takeoff

I am also getting blanks for the new popups, It could be from running DX10? Both MCDU and screen popups are blank.

Apart from that, It handled nicely :)

I'm finding the new update to be fantastic. I'm finely able to use this aircraft with confidence on Pilotedge.  I'm really happy about that.

Good job TFDi!

Another bugs:
TO/APPR page DOES NOT change from T/O to APPR by itself, you have to click the TO/APPR button again to refresh it.

Vertical flight director (pitch bar) is still broken badly when AP is off.

This may just be me,

but the cockpit is way too dark at night. I know I'm getting older, but I had to keep turning on the thunderstorm light to see where anything was on the overhead. That was with the backlighting turned up as far as it would go. I should at least be able to read the switch lables. Also, it is almost impossible to turn on the LH landing lights from the pilots seat with the large lighting switches in the way. A suggestion would be a separate pop up panel for the lights and perhaps one for the MCP as well?
