IMHO I think TFDI should re-think their sales strategy for the ER variant. Apparently this variant is only available in the Collector's Edition so I have read and that product on pre-sale is already sold out!

What about the other users that would have been eager to purchase this /all MD-11 variants? I don't understand why this variant is not on public sale?

Completely baffled by this poor decision.😒

 

Bad business decision TFDi! You have a software commodity that wont go out of stock and yet, you decide to restrict this to 1000 people when you can have many more by allowing us to buy freely within dates instead?

You could have had my holiday/xmass money but no, I guess I will bring it to PMDG instead.

Well I asked a mandatory Question before buying, if it needs AVX Support or will run without. (Hey its 80 Bugs) Did not get an Answer and think they are already sold out. So wouldn't it be a nice Idea to offer more Copys like the Guys at Hype Performance Group did? That was on Early Access Beta build for over a Year. And I guess everyone was not only exited but also very pleased. For the Developer it's a win/win situation. You by now got 80.000 $. I guess that will help you a lot. Maybe now you help those that couldn´t purchase in Time.

I just found out about the pre-order today and I am mad to have missed it. 
 

I would have loved to have the ER. 
 

 

I'm pretty angry, they didn't even bother to send an email to make the purchase. My solution is not to buy the md11 if the limited series has been sold out.

You do realise that you won't get the complete, or any other aircraft until the release date, don't you?

This is actually why I'm here. 

I've been a loyal customer  with both smartcars and the 717 following every step of the way.

Why is TFDi locking us out of a model we want to buy. They created some exclusive club I don't belong to on a product many of us will want - and pay for. 

It's not very smart in my opinion and I can't help but feeling a bit insulted. It deflated all the anticipation I had for the product... and a group of developers I have a lot of respect for. 

So that's it? I missed some window I wasn't aware of and I'll never have the ER?

I just found out about this and wanted to provide my support by jumping in on the preorder. Unfortunately l, I seem to have missed it. Once upon a time TFDI really spent a fair amount of time trying to get my 717 up and running and I haven’t forgotten that level of customer service. Please reconsider limiting this to 1,000. You have more fans than you realize.

I follow TFDI on Twitter and up to this point have enjoyed their 717. I've been waiting a LONG time as has everyone else for the opportunity to purchase this product. However, this latest pre-sale has the potential to become a debacle. I fail to realize why the ER version would be restricted to only the pre-sale? What?

While I understand TFDI has succumed to the "grab the money" strategy which is basically asking the community to fund an incompleted product, I fail to understand the pre-sale strategy.

You're seriously not going to allow others to purchase this product for the next 9 months after waiting all of this time? Or to purchase the -ER variant?

For those of us on vacation or who were not quick enough to be a part of getting a copy (for whatever reason) I think this was a fatal move on TFDI. I am seriously rethinking my plans to purchase the MD-11 or any other TFDI product (PACX or SmartCars).

I only found out about this because of an email from TFDi this morning (Saturday 3rd Dec) about a security breach during the pre-order sale. I'm subscribed to updates so I was surprised I didn't see anything about the pre-order sale in advance. So I had no chance to try and join the queue. The whole point of subscribing to news is that you don't have to go to the forum regularly to get updates, or at least it should be the point.

I also think it's strange the ER version is only available to the lucky 1,000. It seems an odd decision to develop a version with the extra fuel tank but only release it to the pre-order customers (and presumably the beta testers). Let them get it free as a reward, but please let regular customers get a copy for an appropriately small price.

I'm a big fan of TFDi and I will buy the MD-11 when it is released but this pre-sale process hasn't been handled fairly.

No comment from the developers shows greed over costumer loyalty to their projects puts a bad taste in a lot of people’s eyes 

I really like TFDI's 717. And I have also been looking forward to the release of TFDI's MD-11. But your sales strategy this time is very stupid, which makes me confused and angry.

I understand that you need funding during the production process and would love to participate in the pre-sale. But why do you limit 1,000 seats for this? It‘s just an unfinished software, and It‘s not an elaborate souvenir requires expensive and rare materials to make.

It's ridiculous that a lot of people want the ER version but you only intend to give it to these 1,000 lucky ones and say that you will not sell it again. A lot of consumers don't even know you've started pre-selling. I didn't know that pre-sale had started until I received an email from TFDi today (December 5th) about a security breach during the pre-order sale. 

This is simply unfair and unreasonable. It's hard not to think that you don't value your customers and act arbitrarily.

I am also disappointed by this way of selling or promoting the product. It seems that the 1000 copies have been sold quickly with no chance for those who have not been informed. I think it was a bad idea and a bad markweting strategy.

Same as Kevin, I also only found out as a result of the Security breach notification. Great that you let us know about it shame you didn't do the same with the MD-11 offer. 

Also not sure how a download can be out of stock, unless the plan is to charge the rest of us more when you "re-stock"

They did let us know. Aren’t you subscribed to the news letter? We got emails letting us know exactly when and how we could preorder. 

Regardless it wasnt enough time, stop defending scummy devs.

They did let us know. Aren’t you subscribed to the news letter? We got emails letting us know exactly when and how we could preorder. 

I'm also having the same issue.

I didn't know that pre-sale had started until I received an email from TFDi on December 5th about a security breach during the pre-order sale. 

And I'm pretty sure I'm subscribed to the newsletter. In the past, I could receive newsletters. I think it's working fine.

 

Having messaged, got no reply and zero help I'm done with TFDI.

Your entire strategy is completely wrong and misleading. I'm VERY pleased I hadn't actually bought the MD11 as I would have been VERY P.O to buy and then find out it's not yet completed. I don't know what you are trying to do/ pull here but by the looks of things you are losing customers and potential customers at an alarming rate.  You are aware there is a recession going on around the planet and money is becoming very tight for most people so the fact you are pulling what is basically a con is unforgivable.

You can forget leaching any money from me. I'll stick with developers like PMDG who deliver not just superb products but the customer service/ help/ advice a consumer expects when paying a premium for what to most is a hobby..
