Happy Holidays! As we move into December, we have an exciting holiday presale event to announce.

Starting December 1st, 2022 at 1200z, we will be offering a limited number of copies, 1,000 to be exact, of the TFDi Design MD-11 Collector’s Edition for $80 USD! The Collector's Edition will work on both MSFS and P3D simulators.

In addition to supporting us, purchasing this special, limited-edition release gives you:

  • The TFDi Design MD-11 Base Package
  • The Freighter Expansion
  • The Extended Simulation Package
  • This includes advanced failures and the in-flight instructor system
  • The ER (Extended Range) Variant
  • This special variant will never be sold outside of this presale
  • Guaranteed beta access
  • Access to an exclusive Discord channel where development updates will be previewed early
  • A personalized certificate of sale showing your MD-11's sequence number
  • This will be unique to our customers – only purchased versions will be issued with a certificate!

Although the TFDi Design MD-11 is still in development, we are near the final stages and still intend to release the aircraft to the public by the end of September 2023, early supporters will be able to access beta builds when ready and provide direct feedback to our developers working on the project.

The price point of the product has also been revised. The new structure is as follows:

  • $70 for the base pack (passenger or freighter, both engine models)
  • $10 for the freighter/passenger version (dependant on which base pack was bought)
  • $5 for the Extended Simulation Package

If you are interested in getting your hands on the TFDi Design MD-11 early and working with our team as we finalize the development, you can save $5 on the entire package as well as gain an exclusive pre-sale expansion.

The pre-sale will begin on December 1st, 2022 at 1200Z and our team will be available to answer questions live in Discord at release to help you out!

(And to crazyforiphone#9110 who guessed this was about smartCARS 3, wait a month 😉 )

Also, enjoy some photos:

It’s apparent to me based on the comments by many loyal customers this was and continues to be a major mistake on the part of TFDi. What I find more shocking is the lack of response from the developer.

No response is a response. It appears to me they have no intention of trying to fix this or make it right with the majority of their customer base.

Some of you may recall what happened to Captain Sim a few years ago when they released the 767 and how the community reacted to the developer’s attitude on questions and concerns about pricing and release strategy. I had assumed other devs would have taken notice of how not to treat the community and learn from it.

Apparently that assumption is in error.

I would like to have a MD-11 but I DON’T NEED ONE. I’m keeping my money in my bank account for developers who actually care about the community at large and don’t embrace the grab and get business model. So very sad to see TFDi treating us (the flight sim community) like this.

I hate to say that I must agree with you. In my case, I won’t be buying this product if the ER variant is not offered.

Same as Kevin, I also only found out as a result of the Security breach notification. Great that you let us know about it shame you didn't do the same with the MD-11 offer.

Also not sure how a download can be out of stock, unless the plan is to charge the rest of us more when you "re-T

They did let us know. Aren’t you subscribed to the news letter? We got emails letting us know exactly when and how we could preorder.

Since moving over to MSFS I have no reason to check on here on a daily basis or get regular news letters. I've been a customer for 5 years not 5 minutes like you so why is them not notifying people an issue for you?

As other's have mentioned the lack of response from the Dev speaks volumes. they know then messed up but they've managed to get a few bucks out of some for an unfinished product so they clearly don't care. Fair enough that's their choice.

Customers loyal or otherwise also have a choice....now where's that PMDG 777

I have some advice for you about PMDG: what ever you do, don’t hold your breath.

Well they've already delivered the DC6 and 4 variants of the 737 for MSFS I make that 5 - 0 to PMDG

This is very bad business tactics, and I for one will be giving my money and business to other companies that do care about the community and treat the community fairly. Very shameful and very saddened by this.
